Robert L. Soper, 66, of Hahira, went to be with Jesus, surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his residence. Born in Valdosta on October 16, 1951 to the late Martin L. & Anne Soper, he was a lifelong resident of this area. Robert graduated from Lowndes High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1974. After his Army service, he attended and graduated from Valdosta State College on the G.I. Bill in 1977 with a degree in History. Robert would go on to serve as the Executive Director for many years, then as the President and Chief Professional Officer prior to his retirement in 2013. During retirement he continued his service to youth as a consultant and an Executive Coach for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
